Apparently this is to stop people stocking up before an imminent price rise. The current price seems to be 14R (not the 5R on http://www.waytorussia.net/SaintPetersburg/GettingAround.html - maybe a good time to update that with the price rise?) but I've been told nobody knows what the new token price will be. Does anybody happen to know what the new price will be?

Stranger and stranger. At Veteranov Prospect Metro station, all the auto ticket machines have been turned off, supposedly to stop people buying too many because of the price rise. Maybe there is no price rise, just broken machines and token conservation. Thanks for the replies, Pete.

But - do not be greedy! Renenber about min. 4 pounds per ride in London tube (at least 200 rbl)...

If I know more I'll post it.... Pete, you were quite right here. I just got back from Moscow this morning, and at the Ploshad Vosstania Metro station the tokens are now 17R.

Webby2008 Just Starting Joined: 23 Apr 2008 Posts: 2 Location: Sant-Petersburg	Posted: Wed Apr 23, 2008 2:16 pm    Post subject: yes, they are 17 rubles per one now (from 1st April), but to safe your money you can buy a card for several metro (underground) trips. It's good if you are planning to ussualy usw underground during your trip. Also note that public transport ticket costs 16 rubles now.
