My wife and I will be traveling in St. Petersburg in late June/early July.
We only plan on being in St. Petersburg while visiting Russia.

If we only plan on being in St. Petersburg, what is the correct visa form to fill out?

Also, I am looking for some guidance on what to expect when registering the visa in St. Petersburg. We will be staying at a friend's apartment. The explanation on the website describing a landlord/friend's responsibility to register the visa did not make the process seem easy. I am concerned my friend won't have time to go through the process of registering our visas.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

There is a way to inform a registration body about a place of your stay - mailing a special form from the post office (the presence of your host with his passport is obligatory). As I have heard - the form is in Russian and not an easy thing to do - but then you do not need to line at the registartion office in scheduled hours...
