Hi,
This is my first posting on here, although I have read a lot of the content on here over the last few months, and think it's a great site!
My dilemma is this... I met a Russian girl whilst on holiday in Cyprus last summer, and am still in contact with her all the time. I actually made my first trip to Russia in October, to go and stay with her for a week, which was fantastic, and unlike any other experience so far in my life. (She lives in Nizhny Novgorod by the way), so it's very different from England. We speak on the phone about 3 times a week, and email pretty much every day, I think you have to with the distance between us to keep give it any chance of working.
Now she is hopefully coming over to visit me in March, just for a week also, but I'm not sure where we go from there. I've spent alot of time researching visas/permits etc, and think it will be very hard for her to be able to come and live and work here. She's 23 years old, and has a good job as a lawyers assistant in Russia, but probably wouldn't be able to do this in the UK that easily. The only way it seems she can come here, is if we get married..which in all honesty I don't want to do just yet..I do love her, but need time, like any relationship does, and want to marry her for the right reasons..not just for entry to a country.
So..does anyone know of a way we can live together in the UK, and she can work legally, without us getting married straight away? Any help would be appreaciated, as I have no real idea of where to start looking.
Thanks in advance

| I really don't know who qualifies for various visas but perhaps your girl friend can apply for a student visa and enroll in some classes in UK which will be helpful in getting employed. This is just an idea and hopefully Russians on this site will be able to give you more information. Good luck. |

Maybe you can fix some temporary job for a year in for example Moscow, through an english company?
Maybe you would be able to live together there for a while
An interesting adventure and some time to find out if you like to go a step further, taking her back to England |

A friend of mine has been living in the UK for 6 years, it wasn't that hard for him to go, he just prooved he had the money to pay the entire trip or someone there who could do it.
And a job or study invitation letter always benefits it.
MNy advice: make her get a tourist visa, and marry her.
So she automatically gets a European Passport |
