Has anyone used Russian Railways (rzd.ru) to buy a ticket directly? Although the site is currently only in Russian, just wondering if anyone has tried to buy tickets this way?

You can order tickets without any ptoblems that way, but you can recive the tickets only on railway stations with 'Express-3' electronic terminal.

Just returned from Russia and can report that the train ticket Internet purchase/pickup worked just fine. I took my printed receipt (which had a barcode on it) to the window marked with a e with a circle around it (like an "at" sign except with an e) and the woman scanned it and printed out my tickets, just like that. This was for the Moscow-St. Petersburg train leaving at 16:30 from the Leningradskii vokzal (if it's still called that)--for 2 it cost $197.63 one way (which is all I needed) on my Visa statement, which was cheaper than any of the online agencies quotes.
