When trying to post an inquiry this morning I suddenly got an alert from my virus protection of a hijacker attack attempt. I was signed into waytorussia and am just returning after doing complete scan of computer. Is anyone aware of this problem?

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and it looks like there is no problem.

Thanks for your response. I use Norton virus protection which worked this time but was surprised and wondered how often this occurs and will occur in using this site.

I have to reply to this one. I am a Network Engineer and this forum has been hacked several times in the past year or so, WTR usually takes care of it immediately when this happens, no need to worry. I have traced hackers all the way back to their house and IP address. My firewall can trace a hacker anywhere. Remember this is a Russian website so too expect anything less of this sort of thing would be naive. Hackers are getting more advanced so when a websites firewall gets out of date then that is when things like this occur, but it usually gets updated immediately. These hackers are mostly idiots who are trying to find personal information or a IP address, but if you have a good firewall or antivirus program it has privacy protection already with it. You can turn it off or on. Make sure it is on.

Maybe jo jo 7 and Ender will give their opinions about the article since they're in the computer business.

There are pleny histories when hackers from Russia/Ukraine/China/USA/GB/Germany/insert your country name... (maybe except from Zimbabwe Very Happy) hacked someone. This history just one of many. Just use antivirus programs. This happens not because they are so smart and dangerous, this happens because they use weak points of a system. There are pleny of weak points. My expirience shows that 99% of all cases infection/hack/information theft were possible either because of complete absence of anti-virus protection or because of negligence of technical staff or because of carelessness management staff which knows that security measures are weak but doesn't want to do anything about it.

Moreover even after major hack with lost data and money some of them doesn't change their politic about security. Eventually they will be hacked again.

Coreflood backdoor known from 2003 by major antivirus providers. This particular guy just has woken up.

Here is another case of international group: http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9111670&pageNumber=1
