Hi everyone,

We've booked tickets (through waytorussia.net) from Ulaanbaatar->Moscow and then Moscow->St Petersburg, but due to long visa processing times for Canadians, at least one of our party (of three) won't be able to get to Ulaanbaatar in time for the train's departure. (It has to do with his Chinese visa expiring soon—he'll need to renew that before applying for the Russian visa.)

Enough preamble! The question: Is it possible to have the service provider exchange our tickets for ones on a later date? If not, is there any chance that the two of us (who can make it on time) could exchange the late person's ticket on his behalf?

Thanks for any response!

I received a reply from our service provider (Svezhy Veter Travel Agency), and I'll post it here in case anyone is searching for the answer to this like I was:

Train tickets can not be just changed. The previous tickets should be
annulled (there will be cancellation fee) and new tickets are issued.

The cancellation fee for train ticket Ulan-Bator - Moscow is USD 45
per each ticket, and Moscow - St. Petersburg is USD 40 per each
ticket.
