Turkish T.V. are showing some very interesting unedited footage from Georgia and South Ossetia at the moment , makes the Russian troops there look very bad , openly firing on civilians and western media , and also allowing Ossetian bandits loot and ransack Georgian towns. But the best footage award has to go to the Japaneese satalite system which has been taking the damndest pictures of the region over the last few weeks from orbit.

Can you post a link on a videos? I've found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSFRiHbFEtg&NR=1

1. I'm able to hear few words said in Russian. Something like: "Davay, march!" ("Go.. go!"). The words were said with caucasian accent. Many Ossetians, Georgians and Chechens able to speak Russian.
2. Word "marsh" is the word from "old" or "theatric" vocabulary. A russian soldier probably will not use this word.
3. Faces of attackers and their uniform isn't recognizable on the video.
4. The vehicle doesn't have any words like "press" or other recognizable signs.

Possible cases: Ossetian or Chechen paramilitaries, Georgian troops, maroders... but clearly not Russian soldiers.

So, did you made your judgement just after watching this video? Did someone suggested that those who fired shots on the press were russian soldiers? If attackers really wanted to kill turkish press why didn't they killed them but transferred them to the Tskhinvali hospital instead?

Just found this article: "Journalists injured in South Ossetia back in Turkey". It is also clear that something wrong with article:

Quote:
Some 10-15 soldiers sprayed our car with weapons for at least 4-5 minutes. I could not move the vehicle since the engine broke down. We shouted at the soldiers that we were journalists. We also took our t-shirts off and waved them out of windows. Some 4-5 minutes later, soldiers approached us.

Look at the timing of video. It's length is 3.5 min.

It looks like unfortunate accident. There are similar cases in Iraq and probably in the any other war zone.

This is perfect example how lie crawl into your heart. "...Russian troops there look very bad, openly firing on civilians and western media..." Loud assertion, good enough for LA Times headlines.

Voyager wrote:
It clearly shows Russia to be the agressor as the Russian military build up in North Ossetia began a full 10 days BEFORE a single shot was fired

I think it is clearly shows that either Russia have good intelligence or Georgia have a traitor in its government.
Voyager wrote:
further it seems that every August for the last decade or so the Ossetian millitia would begin firing over the border at the Georgians and the Georgians would respond in kind,

Interesting assertion. Why not opposite? Why only August? I've looked at several news for previous years. I found that it is impossible to understand who started exchange of fire. Both sides accuse each other.

Russians are clearly the aggressors, and right now the whole world understands this, so say goodbye to any progress that 'New Russia' has made in the Western world. It's over.

I read Europe gets 25% of its natural gas from Russia. Germany alone gets 40% of its natural gas from Russia. Make the Russians angry and they might close the gas valves this winter to see if freezing Europeans complain about Georgia.

You didn't mention the fact that 75% of Russian revenue comes from Western Europe, so go ahead, turn the gas off. It will be the Russians who will freeze and starve.

We don't need Russian gas, we have plenty of our own, and no Russian gas to Europe means a very poor Russia. Plenty of gas in the North sea for Western Europeans (and better quality too), so I don't think anybody is worrying much at all over here.

But with all these missiles popping up on the border I think it is now the Russians who are worrying.

P.S. USA was agressor in Afganistan, Iraq, Yugoslavia just for last 10 years... What will u say about that?

P.S.S. "So what do u have to say about the USA’s act of criminal agression and mass murder in Iraq? What do u have to say about the deployment of WMD in civilian areas? What do u have to say about the massacre of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians? What do u have to say about the concentration camp at Guantanamo, which brings back flashes of Belsen, Treblinka and Dachau, or the innumerous concentration and extermination camps in the Baltic States?

Nothing. The Georgian massacre of two thousand Russian civilians in one night, war crimes in which grenades were thrown into basements where women and children were huddling, tanks opening fire on old ladies, children being burned alive, are relegated to the word “details”. Details, eh? Yeah right, today a child, tomorrow a terrorist, so blast the crap out of him and get it done with. Is that really how the people of the United States of America feel?"

I've exchanged few messages with him. His head is perfect example of work of U.S. brainwashing machine. There is strong filter in his head. There is only one idea in his head: "Russian are agressors, barbarians and rapers". Everything other has been thrown out as unnecessary.

The old woman speaks English with a very strong accent, I bet she is an US citizen from Ossetian/Russian origin : nobody would give a crap to what she say.

And for information, Xela is not American and he really dislikes the Bush administration.

Of course she speaks English with a very strong accent. It was clear from very beginning. The key moments are: 1) immediate reclame break when she said not expected words 2) 30 seconds restriction on her speak after break is over. Please notice also she was silent first seconds as if she had nothing to say. People usually have such face when they think that their words is useless.

There are other videos of English speaking persons, for example this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmfpK4kH-EY

I know this, however he protects U.S. gov-t position. If Georgia wasn't U.S. ally then nobody would remember about Georgia/Ossetia/Russia clash. This region suffered from multiple wars during the previous years and nobody on the West said a word against them.

P.S. Sorry for my English, I haven't learnt "subjuctive mood and conditional sentences" yet.

I never even heard of Georgia or Ossetians till this. I did some research, and my conclusions thus far is Putin is pretty much flippin' off the New World Order. Kudo's to him. I hope it's the Russians who come and save "we the people" when our government starts killing us.

12 year old girl's comments ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8XI2Chc6uQ

It seems since the Congress went on recess instead of passing HR362/SR580 (The Iran Blockade Act of War Bill) they needed some hip pocket distraction for the Armada deployment..now being sold as a Naval Humanitarian Mission to Georgia...hmmmm! Get ready for a DRAFT .. America !!!

If you try explaining me FOX News is a big piece of shit, you are preeching for a converted.
I only said that if this woman is from Ossetian/Russian origin, nothing she could say can be taken seriously, it is like asking an Irish American what he thinks about Ulster conflict...

Actually Xela "protects" his own position. And by the way, your way of thinking is completely biased : "if you are against the Russian gov it means you are automatically a pro USA".

I am sorry but I also think Russia is the agressor and the aim of Putin is to annex South Ossetia which doesn't mean I support US foreign policy.

PS : Don't be sorry for your English, mine is not better than yours.

For average Russian there isn't much difference between Fox news, BBC, CNN, Guardian, Reuters, etc. What's the difference between them?

I don't understand. How is it possible that your opinion is same as U.S. but you aren't pro-US? I'm not good at politic but from my point of view entrie Europe is a bunch of U.S.'s satellite countries. Some more satellite, some less satellite. At least when it comes about Russia they support U.S. There are enough wise and independent countries like France and Germany and there are Eastern Europe countries like Poland, Baltic states, Ukraine etc in queue craving for a licking big american ass.

Personally I don't want to see any of countries like Abkhazia and South Ossetia being annexed. Everything is clear with Abkhazia, they will be independent sooner or later. Unfortunately last events shown that South Ossetia completely dependent on Russia. I don't know if our leaders want to annex Ossetia or not but I think that independent Ossetia under Russian protectorate will be better.

Most Americans are not for the Bush administration in the first place. Why is it when another country gets all fired up it has something to do with America? People are always blaming America for everything. It is like you people can not run your own country without Americans telling you what to do or blaming us for the disruption that is going on in your country. America had nothing to do with Russia taking over Ossetia. This was a decision by your Russian government. I disagree with what you guys are talking about. Georgia is an independent country from what I know about all this separation from Russia, but no government has the right to go and take over a place that is separate independently. Where is the ethics from the Russian government? What gives them the right to do what they did? It's all corrupt. Putin wants to bring back the Soviet Union, it is clear what he is doing. Don't blame NATO or pro US as you call it. I am no expert on this stuff, but this is what I see and not from CNN.

Putin did the right thing. If the USSR would still be around they would have been the ones to fight off the New World Order .. now who can the whole peaceful world look to for help ... Putin is the man. He knows what's up and he knows who to blame. I hope he doesn't back down, because without Putin ... all republics and sovereign nations are gonna die by the hands of the ******* *****. Vote Ron Paul and hope he's elected, because if he's not ... there will be WW3 with 80% of the world population dead courtesy of ..... well, if you don't know by now ... better wake up.
Again, Kudo's to Putin. (I think he's sexy too) Razz
