Actually I like interaction here. You have a person from Russia who left and one that stayed.
Why did you Vitali and when? Why did you leave?
Alice do you equate citizenship with nationality. Why?
Have you visited outside of Russia and where?
Do you think Vitali is less Russian, because he gave up his citizenship. |

As Socrates wrote, all I know is nothing. I LOVE to learn. read lots about Iceland and next country I am fascinated about is Georgia. I will visit Georgia soon.

My Ancestors have been in Canada long than USA has been a country. I am Scottish and Irish heritage. Left Scotland because the issues with Jacobite Revolutions and came to Canada with nothing. Immigration was different. whole communities went over, not one person or family. Did not have to deal with government. There was no Walmart to buy your supplies. On average, 1/2 to the 1/3 the people died on the ship. People had to work as a community to survive and prosper.
When I went to Wooden City in Novgorod, I laughed quite hard, because the accomodations like that were still being used in Canada well in 19th century. |

I do not equate citizenship with nationality, no matter how hard some pathetic individuals try to pretend americans, they would still remain their own nationality(russian in case of Vitali)..
Vitali is less patriotic for sure.. i dont like it that he's gonna take an oath of allegience to a foreign country and give up his motherland |

YOu still never answered if you have been outside of Russia and where?
Sorry, I am Vitali on this one. My ancestors came from Scotland almost 300 years to Canada. They left and brought language, Cultural, and way of life with them. If I remember, it is the Russian Soul, not Russian Soil. My father wears a kilt, speaks some Gaelic, plays highland bagpipes and etx. More than most people in Scotland and our English accents have more gaelic slang to it that the Scottish. In old community, we say that we are more Scottish than the Scots. |

Vitali, no. At least you act normal.
I happened to meet some persons who immigrated to america from russia, and they are so arrogant towards russians, all their behavior is like: i'm an "american" now, and you are a dog's poo because you live in Russia ... i pity such people ..
Dr. Faust, i have never been outside of Russia yet. not counting ukraine. But i really hope to travel somewhere sometime.. |

| I see nothing wrong with having more than one citizenship. I don't think doing so takes anything away from one's national origin. Perhaps Americans and Canadians have a different perspective on this because most of us have culturally blended backgrounds. Myself, I have Russian, Polish and Canadian French background. I think if I lived for any length of time in Russia, Poland or Canada, I would apply for citizenship in any of those countries.[/b] |
