I don't think you can recharge online at all.

They have recently launched such service on their site, but the way they did it is hell crazy and I couldn't figure out how to make it - they require a sign-up, several confirmations etc.

May be it's easier to buy a megafon pin-card on e.g. softkey.ru and just use the pincode to recharge your cell-phone account.

Not sure if my answer is useful at all but as being a client of Raiffeisen bank i can recharge my mobile (as well as almost all moscow and number of othe russian mobile operators) online, using my account. I can't think of any other online way to pay for a mobile with the card in Moscow.

Anyway, why not transfer money from one bank account to another so that your GF could pay for her phone herself?.. seems to be a good point and its not a big deal to open an account for a resident in a russian bank (or russian branches of international banks) here in Russia nowdays.
