| Hello people!! I am a graduate from New York University, living currently in Bangalore India. I have just started my own business and am lookin at exporting my products to Russia and else. I wanted to know how people felt about Herbal Teas? Like Ginseng Tea for stress or Insomnia Tea to help to sleep or Soothing Cough and cold Tea etc. These teas are made from all natural herbs and Darjeeling Green Teas. Wanted to especially know from the Russian people whether they have heard or tried these types of teas. Thanks and Regards.... nirav |

I'm sure herbal teas or any other Asian herbal medicine for that matter would be popular in Russia, especially among the older generation. Most people prefer natural cures than medicinal drugs. I was told to bring some Chinese herbs from Asia when I was going to go to Russia but alas, I know nothing abut herbs even though i'm asian. LOL. |

| Well India and China have many simalar herbs, like Ginseng. It pretty much has the same effects and is from the same family, but not the same identical herb. One of my products have ginseng and other herbs blended with Darjeeling Green tea to help you relieve stress or help you sleep better. Other Teas are along the same lines with other herbs. Hey does anyone know how much does Lipton Yellow Label Tea Bags cost? Here in India a pack of 25 Te bags cost Rs.25, which is equal to around US$ 0.55. What do u guys think should be the pricing for my Herbal medicated Tea Bags? Rather how much would you pay for a product like it? Thanks for your comments guys and keep them coming!! |

Hmm I don't really pay attention to the prices. My husband doesn't like Lipton tea and will pay more for other teas. Most teas are from India. I think Russians would rather go for quality teas with full natural flavours rather than fancy 'fruit' or flavoured (chemicals, really) teas. I've seen a lot of Chinese teas in supermarkets here, as well as flower teas and other fancy stuff. About herbal teas for specific purposes, I'm not sure. Maybe they're just not commonly available enough.
I can check out the prices for you when I visit the supermarket tomorrow.
On the other hand, I hate ginseng tea.
Also, I think just leaf tea or teapot bags would be a good idea. |

Hey that would be a help great if you could let me know of the prices of the Chinese Teas available there. I am actually planning to use green leaf tea in my herbal teas and one of the options would be plain Darjeeling Leaf Tea, Green Tea that is, not black tea. Oh and I just asked about Lipton's price to get an general idea of tea pricing in Russia compared to India. On another note dont you just love the internet, making friends instantaneously thousands of miles away, cross cultural debates.... Already in 2005, wonder what the next big thing is gonna be after the comp? |
