yeah, they got one of those (two if you think about the roadblock in front of the airport) in Vladivostok too. I recently had an hour or so to wait for a flight in Vladivostok and decided to find a seat on the first floor near the "security checkpoint". It was pretty comical watching folks queue for entry, push their way through, carry bags through the metal detector, the two operators chatting up a storm on their own and really not paying much attention to the alerts, etc.
All this considering the fact that there is a pretty sophisticated explosives detector that you must walk through on the second floor.
Go figure. |

| Thanks gaijin. I agree, LED is the worst international airport i've been to yet. Passport control was incredibly lengthy- I think they were all out for breakfast for an hour while we passengers all piled up. no decent places to eat. and as bleak as LaGuardia (the worst domestic airport). So re: the bus- plenty of options outside the terminal? does the train not run at all on the weekends? so there is a bus ticket booth in the airport or is it pay as you get on? sorry, i know i'm throwing a lot at you. |

| You have not been to Kazan. They had no heat in the place and one man from Kazakhstan or somewhere like that was packing his chickens on to the plane. |

I'm a bit confused by the site- what's this about checking my luggage on the train? [quote]
It's only for domestic flights and flights to Belarus.

and the method of buying tickets: when i hit the link it just goes to the bottom of the page- is it the phone #? can they be purchased in the airport? |
It is the price list. I can't say for sure, but probably yes.

Yes, except that 6:50 / 5:45 one. |

danbrew, when did you last travelled from SVO to City Centre? Your information may be outdated because according to
http://www.aeroexpress.ru/en/schedule/sheremetievo/
the trains are at least every hour even during the off peak hours! |

In January. I'm pretty certain that the schedule wasn't that comprehensive when I did it in January. There was a few hour gap between when I arrived and the next train. Even today, on the schedule that you linked to, if you miss the 10:10 train, you're waiting for almost three hours for the next train. Ouch.
