I was looking to travel from Vladivostok to Moscow and thinking about stopping off at a few cities en route to break up the journey and explore a little.

I'm Planning to buying the tickets as and when i need them, buying the first leg at the station in Vladivostok and spending a day or so there.

I know this might sound like a silly question but is this at all possible? Is it overly expensive to buy separate tickets?

I don't really care having to wait around for the next train if bookings are full.

Thanks

What you have planned is the best way to do the trip. You don't say when you are going, bear in mind that the summer months are very popular for travel and consequently availability of tickets is reduced. Shouldn't be a problem if you aren't on a schedule though as there are many trains each day.

It's the cheapest way to get them. The best idea is to buy the ticket for your next leg as soon as you can after arriving at your stopover point.

Thanks for the reply!

You have dispelled many of my worries about doing this way and "winging it" ;>

I'll be traveling around mid-may which I believe is when it starts to get busy... so I'll have to see what it's like getting tickets.

The plan is to, indeed, buy the next leg of tickets as soon as I can at each point of call en-route to Moscow, once I have bagged a ticket I'll while the time there til my next train.

Thanks again!
