Hi:

A friend of mine is traveling to Moscow for the first time. She is flying from Vladivostok to Moscow. Her flight gets to the airport around 3:00 pm.

What is the safest and most convenient way to get to Hotel Budapest from Moscow International Airport(SVO).

Thanks

You can either order a taxi beforehand (through waytorussia.net) http://waytorussia.net/Services/Driver.html

Or take public transport at the airport (a bus to metro and then metro to hotel Budapest).

Taxi is faster (will take 1 hour) and more convenient and costs $25-$30 US.

Public transport is longer (at least 1.5 hours), costs about $1.[/url]

Just a quick observation - it is more likely that your friend is flying in to SVO-1 rather than SVO-2. SVO-2 is the terminal for international flights, SVO-1 is the terminal on the other side of the airport for domestic flights.

A flight from VVO would normally operate in/out of SVO-1.

This doesn't really affect the answer to your question, which stated most succintly is that the easiest thing is for your friend to simply do a deal with the taxi drivers hanging around the arrivals area in the termain when she arrives. Safety is a non-issue - all options are equally (and acceptably) safe.

Russia is as safe a country as the US - actually, if crime stats are to be believed (and that is a substantial caveat, mind you) it is probably even considerably safer.
