I'm coming to Moscow for a couple of months this summer and I want to find accommodation with Russian people. I was thinking about using flatmates.ru but I'm a little bit nervous sorting out everything over the internet before I get there - obviously i won't be able to meet the people or check out the flat before moving in. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on being safe/making sure you have a genuine offer. Anyone have any flatmates experiences, good or bad to share

Even if you're only staying a couple of months, most people will want to meet you before they agree. And, definitely, it's a good idea to meet them and see the apartment first.
