I am hoping to plan a trip to Russia in August to visit some friends. Now they have already gotten an invitation letter for me which they've sent via email as a jpeg file. Would this be enough to take over the Embassy to apply for my visa or do I need the original document for this to happen. Please let me know. Thanks..

First time to Russia..

Check the website of the Russian Embassy in your country.

The requirements vary according to the type of visa, and sometimes by country of lodgement.
