I'm in a jamb and must book a room for the night of 3 june. The email links on this site are outdated and an internet search is giving me mixed results. can anyone recommend a decently priced place?

We'll hopefully have the guides to the Golden Ring updated in the next few months. Of the hotels listed on this website, Traktir Kuchkova is probably the pick. It now costs 3000 Rubles for a double. Website is:

| I once stayed in the Rizopolozhenskaya, the hotel is located inside a monastry and is decent for russian standards, and a little bit outdated. But not a bad choice. |
