OK, I am not Russian, but I believe most women in Russia live well. I do know several Russian ladies, my wife, mother in law, daughter, 2 ex-girlfriends, and several other lady friends, and just according to their economical standard they have good lives. That doesn't mean they wouldn't like to earn a few more rubles though. I don't think Moscow is a good comparison to other cities, towns, or villages in Russia. My family and friends live mostly in, or around St.Pete, and the wages are (about) two thirds that of Moscow, but so is the cost of a flat.
My mother in law has a degree in accounting, and makes $150 a month plus $32 gov. retirement, an ex-girlfriend has a degree in chemical engineering $200 a month, my daughter degreed biologist $125 a month. Just now speaking to my wife, she said there are higher paying jobs available mostly for foreign firms, but they usually ask for women that also speak another language to be paid more money. When she was applying for a job she went to a government employment angency to find a job as an economist, or secretary. Many employer's were wanting to hire her for her secretarial skills, but they were also asking for сексуальные услуги which is a common request from employer's. Of course she would have been paid as much as a $1000 a month then. One of my wife's friends sells condoms and makes $400 a month! The lowest paying jobs are working for any government position, and sometimes they don't receive any pay for months at a time. Most all I know don't have to plant vegetables, but do it to make their money stretch further. Which is also the reson they do not discard any empty jars.
These Russian ladies, of all different ages, live a life style according to what they make, no computer,s, still have a good quality life, and are happy ladies. Of course they all want more, money, love, etc, but then who in the world doesn't. I think one thing that might make them happy is that they don't compare their standards to anyone, or anywhere else's standards.
