| My brother almost fell into this kind of scam. He was exchanging email with a supposed young Russian woman and she started asking for money for a visa and airfare. He showed me all his info on this woman (Svetlana) and I just laughed at him. Foolish naive little brother. "She" sent all these pictures of this hot chick in a bikini getting in and out of a pool. She looked fabulous. In the background of one of the photos was a rather fat hairy man sitting in a lounge chair reading a newspaper by the pool. I said,"you see that guy in the lounge chair reading the paper?" He said, "Yeah". I said, "that's probably Svetlana". After a couple of more emails in which she expressed her love for my brother "svetlana" must have realized my brother was wise to the scaam and he never heard another thing from her. Lesson: be very careful. |

| Real hardcore scammers ones that actually marry and gradually take everything. I know so many businessmen who have been stripped to the bone from foreign wives. |

Well, when I see some mature, educated, and experienced men fall into the "young Russian ladies" trap, I keep wondering what the heck is wrong with all of these men?? Are they that lonely? Are they that hurt by their fellow country women? Are they looking for love that they can't find?
Regardless of all of the WARNING signs, they keep asking for an advice. She said she is in love with me, it has only been a couple of weeks........
My questions is how did you find her in the first place? The advice you are asking for is in the answer to my question.

It is probably not scary when someone says that she is in love after a month. Some people are (fall) in love after 10 minutes.
It is much more scary if she would say she loves you. That is something different. In the case of Americans however it would mean nothing because the step to say 'I love you' is much lower for Americans than for other cultures (Americans say that every 10 minutes and one never knows whether they really mean it).
It would be much more scary if they ask for money and other things after a month. Google her name, email address, etc, and take care. |

You are quoting significantly more words than you have written.
Consider whether you need to quote at all — unless you are quoting to respond to a specific statement, it's usually easier to just mention who you're responding to.
Otherwise, trim the quoted passages down as much as you can. |
