Question about 12 month Visa

northwoodinc Just Starting Joined: 08 Jan 2005 Posts: 3	Posted: Sat Jan 08, 2005 3:49 am    Post subject: Question about 12 month Visa I am going to Russia to stay with my wife and son (Russian Citizens) for 12 months. I have never been to Russia with a buisness visa, only tourist. I have an invite comming from a Russian Travel agent that states my stay from march 1 2005 to march 1 2006. I have always used this company in the past with no problems. My question is how long can I stay in Russia befor I need to leave? I have read that I need to leave in 6 months for one day and return to stay out the remainder of my visa. I ask the travel agent and they said "I will need to stay for 180 days and leave for 5 days and return and stay 180 days" I have never heard of this and wanted to know if any one here could explain how this works and what I really need to do. Thank you!

waytorussia Frequent Guest Joined: 17 Mar 2010 Posts: 14	Posted: Sat Jan 15, 2005 9:38 am    Post subject: It doesn't matter for how long you leave, but if you have a 12-month (Business) visa, you can stay for max 6 consecutive months, then you need to leave and enter again. Also your registration will have to be renewed. The registration is usually done by the company that issued your visa support in the first place.
