Hey everyone...

So i've decided the next trip i'll take is the train from beijing to st petersberg. Now I will be in beijing on 2/10 and I understand that week is a national holiday so i'm going to book my train from beijing to ulan bator before I fly but for the rest of the trip I plan on going something like Irkutsk/Lake Baikal (6 days), then 2 stops in the middle before I hit moscow for 4 days and then st petersberg for 3 days and then fly home.

All the combinations I get on websites are around $1000+ so I was thinking to buy as I go once I get to ulan bator and book the tickets at the latest the morning after I arrive (if not the same day).

What do you guys recon? Booking 2 days before travel in october as it's out of peak season and if I research irkust/lake I can book the forward train 5 days before leaving from irkust.

Thanks in advance
Dom
