We have been trying to get an invitation for my husband to visit the Fur Palace/Sojuz Pushnina in St Petersburg for a couple of months via travel agents. Seems it may be an impossible request. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is the main reason my husband wants to go, to see the Russian Sable fur offered.

We have emailed repeatedly w/no response from the Fur Palace. Can't figure out how to register in English even as a buyer or if there is a fee. Travel Agent says she has called over and over an Ilya there at the Fur Palace/Moscow and he is never available. Surely it is not impossible to visit a fur auction for a fee ?

I believe the best way out will be to come as regular tourists (get a visa invitation from the hotel) and when in Russia you can go wherever you want. You only need a local guide's help to make arrangements for you to visit the auction. For a local it will always be easier to get the necessary information.
