Hello,

I have recently received my tourist visa for russia, and am planned to arrive in Moscow in a few weeks time. With regards to my visa support, i had my agency (organised through waytorussia.net - thanks Ella) fax the tourist confirmation voucher directly to my embassy here in Ireland. However after i picked up my passport with the approved tourist visa, i realised i hadnt been given a copy of this voucher.

Do i need a copy of this voucher OR the original voucher when entering russia? Must i show these documents to customs officials? Maybe i need to go back to my embassy and ask for a copy of the voucher?

Also, how strict are they on checking for sufficient funds for an independent traveller? Should i take a bank statement as well?

And one more question, i am using the e-ticket system with my airlines, and as such will not have a paper ticket to show customs for my outward ticket when i leave. Is a printed itinerary sufficient? Im guessing it should be OK but just need some confirmation.

Thanks for any help offered. And thanks to this site. Very informative and helpful!

It would probably be a good idea if you obtained a copy of the voucher. I had a faxed copy of my voucher with me, but I don't recall ever being asked for it. I wouldn't be too concerned about declaring your money. That really only applies if you are bringing in, or taking out large sums of money. I was going to declare my small amout of money just in case, but was waved through the green line on my arrival at the airport. On my departure they didn't even ask how much money I had. Good luck!
