Im planning on travelling from Moscow to St Petersburg at the end of Sept.after doing the Trans Siberain railway trip.I would like to stay in each city for a week.
Is it easy to get cheap accomodation? Has anyone got a spare room to rent?

Hi, I will do the Transsiberian in mid-september, starting in Vladivostok and then I want to visit Moscow and St.Petersburg also, but I don't know when I'll get there.
About the cheap accomodation, I only know what my LP guide says. But maybe you can look here: http://www.couchsurfing.com/ , it's possible that you can find people from Moscow and/or St.Petersburg who let you stay at their houses for free, but then you'll have to register your visa by yourself. |

Also, http://hospitalityclub.org has quite a lot of members from Russia where you can stay for free.
There are also cheap hotels in the cities along the way, you can stay for about $15 / night usually, but the quality of accommodation is not so good.
Check out the guides to Trans-Siberian cities, esp. Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude to learn about budget accommodation options: http://waytorussia.net/destinations.html |

There are also cheap hotels in the cities along the way, you can stay for about $30 / night, but the quality of accommodation is not really good.
Well, i hope that your vacations and travels go much better. |
