|

Hello
I am citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (and Croatia too). Russian consulate in our country states that BH citizens do not need visa in the following cases:
- if they have original invitation (priglashenie) or
- if they posess original tourist voucher from Russian tourist agency
I was searching on the net and found some web sites offering those vouchers, but they offer them mostly for citizens who need to apply for visa and send them via fax or email. However I do not need visa and need only invitation or voucher at the entrance in Russia.
My questions are:
- Where I could obtain such invitation or voucher, to be sent to me by post, and to be valid (officially approved by Russian authorities)? I do not want to be informed about its inacceptance at Moscow airport
- Do you recommend me to try to get a visa "just in case"?
- Is there some web site where I could read actual and valid information about visa extempts and regulations (in Russian is also ok)? I tried to find such site but without success
Also I am planning to be in Russia for ~7 days and would stay probably in two places as will try to travel to other city. |

What I found online (from wikipedia, I think) confirms what you have written here: you don't need a visa, but you do need proof that you are there as a tourist.
Unless you can find a friendly travel company to provide these documents, I'm afraid it may be necessary for you to reserve a room at a Russian hotel, which can provide the invitation and voucher in the usual way.
At least, I am not aware of any other approach.
Best of luck! |

I am in the same position as Milos (Bosnian citizen, never been to Russia, don't know what invitations are acceptable).
If I use waytorussia's online visa service, will they mail me the original form which I need to enter Russia? And how long does it take? |

They charged more than $45 for the same day processing and more than $60 for express shipment of original documents (maybe because my card's normal currency is Euro).
However, the border control made no problem - the invitation and Bosnian passport were sufficient. I just came back from Russia |

| On second thought, they charged right. I think I have taken wrong exchange rate into account. |
