Hi.

I am an American intersted in finding work or a driving job in russia, and possibley go to school there, (Far East univisity in Vladinstok) but I am truck driver, so looking for work is a pain overseas.

As soon as my money problems are cured, I am planning to obtain a business visa for this reason, possible this year.

What do I need to have the right paper work to drive the Big Rigs and is there any jobs like this that are needed in Russia?

What could I do to increase my chances for a business visa?

Is it possible for someone to "pick up" russian fast just by living there?

How much money does one need to relocate and live in Russia for at least a year?

And is there anything else I am forgetting that is important to what I want to do?

Hey there, I feel your situation. I too would love to relocate to Russia. Won't be happening soon, but perhaps one day.

I can tell you, on the language learning scale, Russian is on the hard end. Requiring something like 280 hours to be considered semi fluent. I suggest something like LiveMocha. It's a language learning website, that's free, and it connects you with others that speak the language as well, and they help you along the way.

My only real advice is research. Use google, and just search things..Russian citizenship, Russian trucking companies, Russian annual living expenses, etc.

Hope this helps.

Classified Ads

This is the most common and traditional way of finding a job. You can check on your local newspapers for any job opening for a trucker. I think fielxo dot com can help you about this. The demand for truck drivers is rising and those who can drive wheels can gain from the employment opportunity offered by the trucking industry.
