Hi, im new to this forum
Im going to russia in summer and as I read its pretty difficult to obtain all the things about private ivitation homestay
I need to know...which things need my girlfriend in Russia with applying for offcial INVITATION FORMULAR-IZVESHENIE....I read she needs my personal details and a photocopy of my passport? what is exactly meant by photocopy of passport? all passport or only some pages??? then she fill up the form and she has to wait until they confirm it in local OVIR office or at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs???
is here any example how that Izveshenie looks like? some scanned copy???
does this mean that...I have to post her copy of my passport and tell her some personal details, then she go with this stuff to OVIR, asks for formular, fill it...and waits until they send to her....than she sends me via courier back and I can apply for VISA in my country...???
thank for all information I really need to know

Don't bother with the private visa. Go for tourist (easiest to get) or business visas (most flexible, and easy to get for a price). Consult a visa agency to help you out.
Photocopy of a passport means only the relevant pages: the personal particulars page and any modifications, new photos etc.

thanks a lot bro
of course after what I have read I would rather chose touristic visa or bussiness BUT:
if I chose tourstic I will have to book some hotel, pay for it...etc...and I have no need...I will stay at my girlfriends flat...and I dont want to have problems

Get a business visa. It is the easiest kind and you have complete freedom of movement in the country. Take your girlfriend out to a nice hotel for the weekend and you will get your registration stamp.
Don't try to deal with the hassles of a private visa. |

| F#&K that business visa or tourist visa. I dont understand why everyone is saying dont get a private stay visa? He is leaving in the summer time. You have plenty of time to recieve a Private Stay Visa. I got one and i took a little over a month to recieve. You need to photocopy passport main pages and give basic info about u to ur girl. She will then write letter to ovir saying that she will host u during ur stay in Russia. You then have to wait for Inivitation to be made this is the part where u wait for 1 month exactly and it will be made and your girl will pick it up at OVIR and mail it to u. Tell her to mail it express that way u will get it in 4 days. Then u have to mail your Invitation, Passport, Visa Applications and a money order to the Russian Consulate in U.S. Depending on how much you pay the more you pay the faster it will be made. 150$ for 3 business days, 100 for a week, 200 for next business day. I know you will be okay doing it like this. |
