Greetings...
Although I'm quite used to Moscow there's something I'd like to ask others regards certain cuisine in the Indian line within the city!
The following page mentions various Indian Restaurants and I am looking for experiences people may have had with these establishments, so it's an ask in regards of your recommendations...

Has anyone experienced one or more of these "coins gastronomiques..." who would be kind enough to provide a reply here?

Could you elaborate? What sort of ambiance and class of cooking have the establishment and is it purely Tandoori dishes or a variety of Indian foods?
Or if anyone has experiences...

| Tandoor is no longer at Mayakovskaya. They've moved, and I can't remember where. I wanna say it was somewhere down in the South end of Moscow. |

I was at Five Spices and found it pretty decent. I can't comment too much on the Indian side, however, as I stuck with the Chinese. I found it pricier than most Moscow eating establishments.
Darbar used to be considered very good, despite it's really weird location in the completely Soviet and not too central Sputnik hotel. However, Russian partners apparently kicked out their Indian partners, and the place's quality and character are supposedly in decline.
Tandoor apparently still operates somewhere in Moscow, but I can't remember where. They used to be at Mayakovka, but their building's getting renovated. Authentic, inexpensive, good service, and selection. If only the location's changed, I'd say try to find out where it is and try it.
Last, one that's not listed there, but is one of my personal favorites is Vostochnaya Komnata (Eastern Room) at Metro Smolenskaya, in the back right hand corner of the building that houses the Stockman's shopping center and Regis Business Center. The menu is actually a mix between Indian, Georgian and Arabian cuisine. Intriguing interior, inexpensive, good selection and service.
Hope that helps. |

Tandoor is more Pakistani than Indian, according to some enthusiasts that I spoke to. I wouldn't eat at Darbar - they were good once upon a time, but they are tainted now because of the dirty tricks the thugs that run the place played on their Indian partners. Tandoor is still at Mayakovskaya but across the street from the original location. It is now inside the building that Pizza Hut and Deli France are in. |

| The eXile offers a good review of Tandoor, and it has the latest location. You'll have to search around their website a bit, or I can dig around in the PDF and reprint it here if necessary. |
