Don't miss concert of Xiu Xiu - post-rock experimental music band from the US!
Xiu Xiu was first formed in 2000 and is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart. In 2003 he was joined by his cousin Caralee McElroy and together they had been recording and performing for 6 years untill 2009 when Caralee left the band. Jamies's current bandmates are Angela Seo, Sam Mickens, Zac Pennington and Ches Smith. In 2010 Xiu Xiu realised 7th studio album "God, I Hate Myself".
Xiu Xiu's music is all about sound, a blend of both melody and cacophony with a heavy reliance on percussive instrumentation and brass instrumentation. In terms of genres it can be classified as a mix of punk, art-rock, avant-garde, noise and electronica.
