Designed specifically for the purpose of hosting concerts, Ikra
attracts the biggest international and Russian acts more often than any other venue in Moscow. Surprisingly, therefore, the club/cafe/bar isn’t all that expensive. You’ll find cheap beer and cocktails as well as inexpensive, although quite flavorless food, on the menu. The sound system is brilliant and the atmosphere is great when there’s a decent-sized crowd, although the retro-70s interior is a bit irritating. At any rate, this club isn’t important for its style but for the quality of the concerts held here. Concerts usually run from Thursday to Sunday nights while Wednesday night has a rock and roll DJ entertaining the crowd. Cover charge depends on the night’s act.
