The floors look a bit dated but are clean and tidy. Standard singles and doubles cost $40 and $50 respectively while the renovated rooms are priced at $140 and $180. The difference in prices is a good indication of the quality of the non-renovated rooms.
"Superior" rooms are renovated to 3-star standard are priced at $240 for double occupancy. All major credit cards are accepted. Breakfast costs an additional $10. The rooms are nothing special but are clean, quite spacious, well-furnished and each has a telephone, TV and safe. There is only one lift to service five floors and the lift doesn’t go to the fifth floor so you might get a workout on the stairs. The hotel caters mainly to Russians, although non-Russian speakers would have no problems here. Internet is available in the business center for $5 per hour - expensive. On the whole Altay is a decent budget offering with some minor inconveniences.
