Irbis Hotel Hotel

The main advantage of this hotel is that it costs and feels like a proper 3-star hotel, which is a rarity for Moscow. The main disadvantage is that it's 20 minutes by metro from the city center, although the area itself is quite calm and there are several popular hotels around.

Probably good if you're visiting on a business trip or don't want to be in the midst of all the craziness.
The reception area features an ATM and currency exchange with good rates. The receptionists are helpful and speak good English. Each floor is nicely decorated in a different style. The standard rooms are basic in terms of furnishings but are comfortable, clean and attractive. Some of the extra trimmings include a hot and cold water filter, free tea and coffee, a cheap and well-stocked mini-bar and larger televisions than you would normally find in a three star hotel. The executive suites are well-equipped and impressive. Standard singles cost $130 while standard doubles are $150. The better suites start at $200. A buffet breakfast is included in the price and all major credit cards are accepted. The hotel also has a conference hall and a business center with internet for $2 per half hour.
